A woman who was fatally shot during a confrontation involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and protesters in south Minneapolis has been identified as 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good.
According to the Star Tribune, the shooting occurred during a clash between federal agents and demonstrators. The newspaper reported that Good’s mother confirmed her identity. The Department of Homeland Security also confirmed that an ICE agent fired the fatal shot.
The Daily Mail reported that a woman at the scene, who claimed to be Good’s wife, was visibly distressed following the shooting. “That’s my wife, I don’t know what to do,” the woman was quoted as saying. “I have a six-year-old at school… we’re new here, we don’t have anyone.”
Video footage posted on X appears to show the moments leading up to the shooting. Authorities say Good accelerated her vehicle toward federal agents, placing at least one ICE officer in immediate danger of being struck. Additional footage shows the officer narrowly avoiding being run over.
Officials stated that the ICE agent fired his weapon in what they described as self-defense.

President Trump addressed the incident in a post on Truth Social after reviewing the video. He said the driver “violently, willfully, and viciously” attempted to run over the ICE officer.
“I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch,” President Trump wrote. He stated that the officer appeared to have acted in self-defense and confirmed that the agent is recovering in the hospital.
“Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but he is now recovering,” Trump said, adding that the incident is under review. He attributed the broader situation to what he described as ongoing threats and assaults against law enforcement officers.

“They are just trying to do the job of making America safe,” the president said, calling for increased support and protection for law enforcement personnel.
The incident remains under investigation by federal authorities.
