Authorities have released the mugshots of two 17-year-olds charged in the June murder of 21-year-old Capitol Hill intern Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, following months of withheld identification.
Tarpinian-Jachym, a University of Massachusetts Amherst student and intern for Republican Representative Ron Estes of Kansas, was fatally shot on the night of June 30 in Washington, D.C.’s Northwest neighborhood.

According to police, the shooting occurred at approximately 10:28 p.m. when a group of suspects opened fire on Tarpinian-Jachym and two others — a 16-year-old male and an adult woman. Investigators believe the incident was targeted, though Tarpinian-Jachym was not the intended victim, according to ABC News.
Last week, authorities arrested two 17-year-olds, Kelvin Thomas Jr. and Jailen Lucas, in connection with the killing. Their mugshots were released over the weekend.
