Jimmy John’s employee allegedly shoots fired co-worker’s 14-year-old daughter during dispute

A 27-year-old Jimmy John’s employee was arrested after allegedly shooting a 14-year-old girl in the leg. The incident took place on September 5, 2026, when a woman, who was also the mother of the unnamed child, got into an argument with the shooter, identified as Adam White. White fled the scene following the shooting and was arrested on September 6.

The incident originally began with a dispute between the mother and the Jimmy John’s restaurant at 3822 Laclede Ave. Court documents have revealed that the mother was recently fired from the establishment, though an exact date was not provided. As of publication, it is also unclear as to what the dispute was about or why the woman was fired.

The situation escalated further after the woman’s boyfriend and the 14-year-old’s father arrived at the scene. White and the woman continued arguing, which continued into the parking lot. Eventually, the woman, her boyfriend, and the 14-year-old got into a car and began to leave. However, White allegedly pulled out a firearm and fired multiple shots at the back of the car.

One bullet struck the 14-year-old girl’s left leg. She was immediately rushed to the hospital and was later reported to be in stable condition. Following the shooting, White fled the scene. He later returned and surrendered to authorities. He also admitted to shooting at the vehicle and told authorities that he had left the firearm at his house.

Adam White was arrested and is currently being held without bond. A separate 38-year-old man was arrested in relation to the shooting.

“The 25-year-old arrested man has been charged with three counts of Assault 1st Degree, five counts of Armed Criminal Action, one count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child 1st Degree by the Circuit Attorney’s Office,” a press release by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department revealed. According to the press release, “Charges against the arrested 38-year-old man were not issued.”

As always, as news of the incident made its way to the Internet, social media users shared their opinions. One user wrote, “He brought a pistol to work? Why? Is the sandwich shop that sketchy? Also, nobody noticed he had a gun at work? Why open fire over a dispute? Was it really that important?”

Another added, “So, employees are packing at Jimmy John’s. Good to know. Why is this miscreant not being charged with attempted murder? Firing a weapon into a car constitutes deadly force. The fact that no one was killed doesn’t mean that deadly force wasn’t used.”
