“She Wouldn’t Stop Talking” — Driver Accused of Killing a Woman and Staging the I-70 Crash
A truck driver accused of killing a woman inside his semi and then deliberately crashing the truck to make her death appear accidental is scheduled to stand trial Oct. 27 in Preble County, Ohio.

LaDavid Jaron Shaw, 38, faces one count each of murder, tampering with evidence, and resisting arrest. His defense previously entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity, but that plea was later withdrawn after a forensic evaluation found him competent to proceed.
Police were initially dispatched to a tractor-trailer crash on the U.S. 40 entrance ramp to westbound Interstate 70.
Officers later found Shaw at a nearby truck stop, where authorities say he told them he had killed a woman inside his truck and intentionally crashed the semi in an attempt to make it appear she had died in the wreck.

Shanae Robinson, 36, was found inside the truck and later pronounced dead at a hospital.
While receiving treatment in an ambulance at the scene, Shaw allegedly told authorities that he had strangled Robinson with his hands and placed his boot on her neck because she would not “shut up,” according to court records cited by local media.
When officers moved to arrest him, authorities say Shaw resisted, requiring multiple Taser deployments and assistance from a Preble County Sheriff’s Office K-9 before he was placed in handcuffs.
Court records also allege that Shaw damaged the first patrol vehicle used to hold him by kicking inside the cruiser. He was transferred to another vehicle, where authorities say he continued kicking the center divider.
His next court hearing is scheduled for Sept. 23, followed by the Oct. 27 trial. Shaw has not been convicted on the current charges.
