A decade after divorce, 76-year-old woman still couldn’t move on, so she goes on shooting rampage against ex and his younger girlfriend

A 76-year-old woman in Georgia was arrested and charged with the murder of her ex-husband and his mistress after she allegedly barged into the victims’ house and opened fire on both.

The accused shot the victims in cold blood

Deputies from the Toombs County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a shooting incident around 2:19 p.m. on Monday, October 19, at a home in the 100 block of McNatt Falls Road, per WTOC.

Sheriff Jordan Kight told the outlet that Grace Edge barged into the place with a firearm and shot her ex-husband, 75-year-old Wallace Edge, and her girlfriend, 40-year-old Pamela Cook, fatally.

Cook told the dispatchers how Edge entered the house and opened fire on the victims. She added that the attacker didn’t try to have a conversation and just started shooting at them.

Edge and her husband had a complicated relationship

Deputies later told the outlet that Edge and Wallace were married around a decade ago and lived separately after the divorce.

Reports suggested the ex-couple had a complicated relationship, as they were romantically involved after their divorce as well.

“Mr. Edge had started dating Pamela, and it appears that based on information we received, Grace was not accepting of the situation,” Sheriff Kight said.

Edge allegedly fired five rounds from her gun: four were shot at Wallace and his girlfriend and one at Diane Cook. After the incident, the accused seemingly gave herself up to police.

“We believe she had driven straight from the residence where this happened and drove straight here to the sheriff’s office,” Kight added.

Police have charged Edge with seven counts of malice murder, felony murder and aggravated assault against the victims.

Investigators later found that Edge and her former husband were in a tumultuous marriage, as deputies were earlier called to their place multiple times with reports of domestic abuse and related incidents.

Both the accused and the victim would blame each other for the actions and no arrests were made in those incidents.

“When something like this happens, it is a shock and awe type feel to our community,” Kight said.
