WATCH THIS : Wild video captures hot air balloon with 13 aboard making emergency landing in California backyard

A dramatic scene unfolded in a quiet Temecula, California neighborhood when a large hot air balloon carrying 13 passengers was forced into an unexpected landing right in a homeowner’s backyard.

The entire moment was captured on video by homeowner Hunter Perrin, who had no idea anything unusual was happening until a neighbor rushed over to alert him. At the time, Perrin said he was inside watching television around 8:30 a.m. when there was a knock at the door.

When he answered, he was told that a hot air balloon had just come down on his property. Shocked, he and his wife Jenna hurried outside to see what was going on.

Outside, they were met with a surreal sight: a massive balloon slowly settling among the trees while a basket full of passengers sat calmly inside, smiling and waving as if nothing out of the ordinary was happening.

Someone nearby can be heard reacting in disbelief, calling out in amazement at the unusual landing happening right in the backyard.

According to the pilot, the situation was triggered when wind conditions dropped unexpectedly during the flight, leaving limited fuel and forcing a quick decision to land. Despite the tight space, the pilot was able to bring the balloon down safely without snagging it on anything.

Perrin described the moment of opening his sliding glass door and suddenly seeing a full passenger basket just feet away. He praised the pilot’s handling of the situation, noting that the landing was precise and no damage occurred.

One passenger, Brianna Avalos, said the flight had originally been planned as a celebration of her 10th wedding anniversary with her husband. She explained that the mood shifted quickly when the pilot informed everyone they would need to land due to the calm winds and low fuel supply.

She recalled her shock at realizing they were descending directly into a residential backyard, calling the experience both unbelievable and surreal.

After landing, the passengers climbed out safely. The balloon was then secured, deflated, and later removed from the backyard and taken out to the street.

Authorities confirmed that no one was injured and no property was damaged during the emergency landing.
