Two Florida teenagers have been charged with murder after police say they lured a 14-year-old girl into the woods, shot her, and burned her body.

Gabriel Williams, 16, and Kimahri Blevins, 14, were arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree premeditated murder. The arrests came days after the burned remains of Danika Troy were discovered in a wooded area in Pace, Florida. According to police reports obtained by Law&Crime, a witness told authorities that Blevins and Williams planned the killing after Troy allegedly insulted Williams on social media and blocked Blevins’ account.

The incident reportedly occurred during the teens’ Thanksgiving break. Troy’s mother first reported her missing on Monday, saying she last saw her daughter at 10 p.m. Sunday. She also noticed that Troy’s electric scooter was missing.

A day later, a passerby reported seeing a body in the woods. Police responding to the scene found evidence of a fire, multiple live rounds of ammunition, a charred human body, and a shoe matching the description of what Troy was wearing. Troy’s electric scooter was also recovered. The remains were confirmed to be Troy’s on Wednesday.

During the investigation, an unnamed witness said Blevins admitted that he and Williams had planned the murder. Blevins allegedly said the initial plan was to shoot Troy once, but Williams reportedly escalated the violence. Police say the teens burned her body after the shooting.

When detectives spoke with Blevins at his home, he confirmed he had a falling out with Troy and blocked her on social media, but requested an attorney when questioned about the events in the woods. Blevins’ mother told police she saw him sneaking back into the house around 11 p.m. Sunday.

Williams told police that Troy had made “hurtful comments” toward him, calling him “worthless and a gang-banger.” He was also arrested.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said during a press conference that the motive described by the teens “doesn’t fit the forensics or facts of the case.” Johnson added that Williams “stole his mother’s handgun and shot Danika Troy,” describing the teens as “friends, supposedly.”

Both boys are being held without bond at the Santa Rosa Juvenile Detention Center.
