Michelle Obama’s noticeably slimmer appearance has stirred a wave of online speculation after she shared behind-the-scenes footage from a recent photo shoot with renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz.

The 61-year-old posted images and video from the session on Instagram, praising Leibovitz’s ability to capture more than just a moment. “Annie Leibovitz has always known that a photo can do more than preserve a moment — it can say something,” Obama wrote on Friday. She noted that Leibovitz’s updated edition of Women continues to highlight the many ways women are showing up and leading today. “It was an honor to be photographed by Annie for the new edition,” she added. “I hope you’ll find it as inspirational as I do.”

In the shoot, Obama wore a gray T-shirt, jeans, and brown suede boots, offering glimpses of her toned arms and flat midsection. Her noticeably leaner look, however, prompted a rush of unfounded claims on social media suggesting she may have used Ozempic or other GLP-1 medications.

Some users insisted celebrities should be more transparent about weight-loss methods, while others speculated about the ease with which public figures can access such medications. None of these claims are supported by evidence. The Post has reached out to Obama’s representatives for comment.

Obama has spoken openly in the past about her evolving approach to health. In 2022, she discussed the gradual weight gain she experienced during menopause, explaining that she became more mindful — though not obsessive — about her routines. Earlier this month, she emphasized that staying active, eating well, and keeping up with regular medical checkups remain priorities.

“My health has always been paramount,” she said. “I do all the things I’m supposed to do because I value my health — and that allows me to enjoy this time. I’m not achy, I’m not sore, I’m not sick. I’m as vibrant as I’ve ever been.”
