Trump Calls Video Released by 6 Dems ‘Punishable by Death’

President Trump is sharply condemning a new video released by six Democratic lawmakers, accusing them of engaging in “seditious behavior” and warning that such conduct is “punishable by death.”

The video:
As reported by Politico, the lawmakers recorded a message directed at U.S. service members and intelligence personnel, urging them to “refuse illegal orders” that target “American citizens.” In the video, they say, “Like us, you all swore an oath to protect and defend this Constitution. Right now, the threats to our Constitution aren’t just coming from abroad, but from right here at home. Our laws are clear—you can refuse illegal orders.”

Who’s in it:
Sens. Elissa Slotkin and Mark Kelly appear in the clip, along with Reps. Jason Crow, Chrissy Houlahan, Maggie Goodlander, and Chris Deluzio. All six have military or national-security backgrounds. They did not specify what actions or directives they consider to be illegal.

Trump’s response:
In a series of posts on Truth Social, President Trump wrote, “Each one of these traitors to our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL. Their words cannot be allowed to stand—We won’t have a Country anymore!!! An example MUST BE SET.”
He added, “It’s called SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL,” according to Newsweek.
In one of his more forceful statements, Trump declared: “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” He also shared several posts attacking the lawmakers, including one saying, “HANG THEM GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD!!”

Justice Department reaction:
On Wednesday, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the Justice Department would take a “very close look” at the video, calling it a “disgusting and inappropriate display of supposed leadership from the Democrat Party,” per CNN.
