Far Left Globalist Pope Calls on US Bishops to Issue Historic Rebuke of President Trump’s Migrant Raids

The debate over U.S. immigration policy intensified this week as Pope Francis urged American bishops to publicly rebuke President Trump for the administration’s nationwide migrant-enforcement raids. Critics quickly pointed out what they view as a striking level of hypocrisy.
Under Pope Francis, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has increasingly reflected the priorities of its more progressive members—a shift that many Catholics say is unmistakable across parishes nationwide.
On Wednesday, the bishops issued a near-unanimous statement condemning President Trump’s stepped-up removal of individuals living in the country illegally. The president had previously given those individuals time to depart voluntarily and is now carrying out a campaign pledge to address the estimated 20 million illegal migrants who entered during Joe Biden’s presidency.
During those years, the federal government also lost track of roughly 300,000 unaccompanied migrant children, according to combined findings from DHS OIG audits, congressional oversight, and FOIA releases. Critics ask why Church leadership was largely silent during that period.
In case you were wondering, the current Pope is a globalist traitor – just like the last nine. And I’m Catholic. So spare me. https://t.co/0ziFy8884T

At the same time, Catholic agencies received an estimated $2.3 billion in federal funding for migrant-related programs throughout the Biden administration—funding that was dramatically reduced once President Trump changed course.
According to Letters from Leo, the bishops, gathered in Baltimore for their annual meeting, voted 216–5 (with three abstentions) to approve a rare “Special Message” on immigration—the first in more than a decade. After the vote, the bishops stood and applauded, emphasizing the weight of their decision.
Some longtime observers described the statement as one of the strongest collective rebukes of a sitting U.S. president in the history of the American Catholic hierarchy. “We oppose the indiscriminate mass deportation of people. We pray for an end to dehumanizing rhetoric and violence, whether directed at immigrants or at law enforcement,” the message read.
Supporters of President Trump, whom many consider the most pro-life president in U.S. history, expressed outrage at what they see as a deeply misguided and overtly political attack from religious leaders.
