Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, well known for his sports coverage and popular pizza reviews, was the target of a vile antisemitic outburst last week while filming in Starkville, Mississippi.
Portnoy was outside a local pizza shop ahead of the Mississippi State University (MSU) vs. University of Georgia football game when a student launched into a hateful tirade. In a video released Monday, a man identified as 20-year-old MSU student Patrick McClintock can be heard shouting, “Hey, fk the Jews, fk you, Dave,” at Portnoy, who is Jewish.
McClintock allegedly threw coins toward Portnoy during the confrontation. Portnoy, keeping his composure, responded, “Why don’t you come in the camera, buddy?” The camera then turned, capturing McClintock yelling, “Get the f**k out of Starkville.”
Bystanders quickly condemned McClintock’s behavior and apologized to Portnoy. “It’s alright, there’s aholes everywhere you go,” Portnoy said afterward. “And by the way, if you saw, everyone in this crowd here told that guy to go fk himself.”

The Starkville Police Department later confirmed they were aware of the video and had issued a warrant. In a statement reported by MSU’s student newspaper The Reflector, the department said:
“Offensive words alone are protected, but when behavior disrupts a public event or risks violence, the Starkville Police Department will take steps to help maintain safety and security.”
Authorities added that Mississippi law allows enhanced penalties if a crime is motivated by bias or discrimination. The case remains under investigation.
McClintock, a junior mechanical engineering student, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace and has since voluntarily withdrawn from MSU.
An MSU spokesperson said the university is committed to ensuring “every person has the right to feel safe and respected in our community.”
This is not the first time Portnoy has had to address antisemitic incidents connected to his brand. In May, at a Barstool Sports bar in Philadelphia, a Temple University student displayed an antisemitic sign reading “F*** Jews” during bottle service. Portnoy responded forcefully, firing everyone involved and offering to send those responsible to Auschwitz to learn about the Holocaust.
“Let’s try to, like, turn a hideous incident into maybe a learning experience,” he said at the time.
