Man Shot Dead After Groping Customer, Unleashing Violent Rampage In California Store

A man was shot and killed Sunday afternoon inside a California business following an incident that began with him allegedly groping a female customer and quickly escalated into violence.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators say the shooting occurred around 3:21 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Deputies from the Compton Sheriff’s Station initially responded to a disturbance call, which was later updated to report a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, deputies found a male adult suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Compton Fire Department personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
Incident Escalates Quickly
According to investigators, the man entered the store and allegedly groped a female customer. When employees asked him to leave, he became verbally aggressive toward staff and other customers.
The situation intensified as the man reportedly began throwing and damaging merchandise. Witnesses said they saw him holding an object believed to be a knife, and he made verbal threats to harm others in the store.
A second customer, fearing for the safety of herself, employees, and other patrons, retrieved a personal firearm and fired a warning shot. When the man turned toward her, she fired a second shot, striking him.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased, and there is no update on the condition of the customer who fired the shots.
