One of the Hosts of ‘The View’ Pledged to Wear a MAGA Hat on the Show if Trump Freed the Hostages – We’re Waiting

Back in January, Alyssa Farah Griffin, co-host of The View, publicly vowed that if President Trump succeeded in freeing the Israeli hostages, she would wear a MAGA hat on the show for a day and personally thank him.
Now that those hostages have been freed, the question is simple: Will she keep her word?
During Monday’s broadcast of The View, the hosts discussed the historic development, with Griffin acknowledging President Trump’s and his administration’s crucial role in securing the deal. While some of her co-hosts were careful not to directly credit the president, Griffin gave him due praise for what she described as a “massive diplomatic achievement.”

“If this deal holds, it’s a massive diplomatic achievement,” Griffin said. “The whole world can breathe a sigh of relief.”
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg also noted the widespread celebrations marking the current peace in the region, adding, “we can all pray that it stays that way.”
Griffin reflected on the global pain that followed the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas attacks, when terrorists brutally murdered more than 1,100 people and kidnapped 250 others, including children.
“Whether you like Trump or not, I think he, [Special Envoy] Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner do deserve credit for this deal,” Griffin said, highlighting their direct negotiations with Hamas that led to the breakthrough.

Griffin’s on-air acknowledgment was a positive step — but viewers haven’t forgotten her earlier promise. In January, she said:
“If he gets the Israeli hostages out, I promise I will wear a MAGA hat for one day on the show and say, ‘Thank you for doing it.’”
So, now that President Trump has delivered, the world is watching to see if Alyssa Farah Griffin will make good on her word — and proudly wear that MAGA hat on The View.
