Actor Jeff Bridges Hits Immigration Enforcement Officers in Jimmy Kimmel Interview: ‘Get ICE Off Our Streets’

Jeff Bridges joined Jimmy Kimmel Tuesday night in criticizing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

“I feel like we are in such a troubled time,” Kimmel said, setting the stage on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! “People are getting crazier every day,” he added before asking Bridges for some “wisdom.”

Bridges obliged, slipping into his iconic “The Dude” persona from 1998’s The Big Lebowski, donning a cardigan and sunglasses. “Yeah, The Dude here. So … yeah, man, can we just all calm the f*** down?” he said.

He went on to rail against “wars,” “fighting,” and “canceling,” urging everyone to “tone it down.”

“We’re like at, what? A nine? We oughta be at zero, you know? Or zero and a half, at max,” the 75-year-old said. Then, turning political mid-rant, Bridges jabbed at ICE: “ICE! Let’s get ICE off our streets and into our beverages,” he said, sipping a White Russian and smirking. “This aggression will not stand, huh? Right?”

Kimmel laughed along.

But outside Hollywood, the reality is very different. Americans face the dangers ICE confronts daily: human trafficking, fentanyl overdoses, and violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants. These are not punchlines—they are tragedies.

For a man who has built a career portraying rugged heroes and moral wanderers, Bridges’ mockery of ICE highlights a disconnect from the very real consequences Americans endure. “The Dude” may abide on screen, but Bridges, like many in Hollywood, seems out of touch with the everyday realities most Americans live with.

While Bridges and his peers enjoy a bubble funded by audiences seeking escape, the rest of the country continues to deal with problems like crime, drugs, and border security—issues that can’t be laughed away.
