Romania offers the United States something unique: a partnership of destiny. The Ally America First Can Rely On at the Gates of the Orient
By Călin Georgescu, former Romanian presidential candidate and first-round winner of the presidential elections
For far too long, U.S. foreign policy has prioritized aging alliances in Western Europe — even when those allies align with globalist agendas, bow to EU bureaucracy, and work against American interests. Meanwhile, one of the most promising partners for the United States remains overlooked: Romania.
I write not as a career diplomat or lobbyist, but as Romania’s rightful president — a victory stolen by the same Soros-aligned networks that attempted to undermine America’s 2020 election and continue to erode national sovereignty across the globe.
My message to Washington is clear: a strong alliance with Romania gives the United States unmatched strategic leverage in Europe — economically, militarily, and culturally — without entangling itself in unnecessary wars.
Constanța: America’s Gateway to Eurasia
At the core of this opportunity is Constanța, Romania’s Black Sea port — the deepest and most strategically placed in the region. Control of Constanța means control of the eastern gateway to Europe. For the U.S., this isn’t just a military asset; it’s a commercial lifeline.
American investment could turn Constanța into a major logistics hub, securing trade routes and energy corridors that link Europe with the Middle East, Central Asia, and beyond. Connected to it is the Danube–Black Sea Canal — a man-made artery that could be transformed into a 21st-century commercial superhighway. With U.S. expertise and involvement, American companies could help direct the flow of goods from Asia into Europe — not by confrontation with China or Russia, but through control of the infrastructure that underpins global commerce.
No Western European power offers this level of access or influence. Germany cannot. France cannot. Only Romania can.
A Force for Stability in the Balkans
The Balkans remain a geopolitical tinderbox — a region where instability, foreign manipulation, and radical ideologies linger. Romania, however, stands apart as a nation with the credibility, cultural ties, and strategic location to serve as a stabilizing force.
Rooted in Orthodox Christian tradition and Byzantine history, Romania is uniquely positioned to lead a “co-prosperity zone” in Southeastern Europe — securing peace, resisting extremism, and fostering regional development. America should not see Romania as a subordinate partner, but as a regional anchor capable of helping deliver long-term stability.
Real Economy, Real Partnership
Romania is not a speculative economy propped up by financial bubbles. It has real potential in energy, agriculture, and industry. As one of the world’s oldest oil producers, Romania can complement U.S. energy strategies in Europe. Its fertile farmlands can support European food security — especially important as global powers begin to weaponize agriculture and supply chains.
With U.S. support, Romania could follow a development model focused on infrastructure, industry, and self-reliance — not bureaucratic regulation from Brussels. This vision aligns closely with the “America First” economic doctrine: creating real wealth, real jobs, and real independence.
A Cultural Ally with Shared Values
Unlike much of postmodern Western Europe, Romania remains deeply rooted in faith, family, and national identity. Romanians reject the influence of Soros-funded NGOs and unelected EU bureaucrats. What we seek is sovereignty, dignity, and partnership with like-minded nations.
Culturally and ideologically, we are natural allies of a Trump-led America — committed to resisting globalism, defending tradition, and standing up against the radical left. While others bend to Berlin or Brussels, Romania is prepared to stand shoulder to shoulder with Washington.
A Strategic Investment with Lasting Impact
U.S. policymakers often ask: where can America make a strategic investment that delivers real-world results? The answer is Romania.
Supporting Romania’s sovereignty, investing in its infrastructure, and elevating its role as a top-tier U.S. partner in Europe would secure:
-
Dominance over Eurasian trade flows via the Black Sea and Danube
-
A solid NATO presence on the eastern flank, facing both Russia and the Middle East
-
Stability in the Balkans, Europe’s most fragile geopolitical region
-
A cultural and ideological ally grounded in the same values that built the United States
This is not charity. It’s strategic vision — realpolitik, aligned with American interests.
Conclusion: The Ally America Deserves
The foreign policy establishment may continue to prop up outdated alliances that drain U.S. resources while delivering little in return. But leaders like President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance have shown a willingness to rethink old assumptions and prioritize sovereignty and strength over bureaucracy and ideology.
Romania offers the United States a rare opportunity: a true partnership built on shared values, strategic geography, and mutual benefit. This is a chance to create a powerful, peaceful alliance at the crossroads of Europe and Asia.
The 21st century will be shaped by the contests and opportunities emerging in Eurasia. America cannot afford to ignore Romania — a nation ready to stand with it, not against it. Together, we can build an alliance based on faith, family, freedom — and a common future.
