Does my friend wants a lot more than yard work help from my man?
Dear Abby,
I have a female acquaintance, “Kylene,” who hires my fiancé, “Josh,” to do her yard work. He goes over once a week and charges her $60 for the job.
Lately, however, some things have been bothering me. Over the past two weeks, Kylene has started showing up at our house unannounced. She also seems to know Josh’s schedule and makes a point to be at the neighborhood bar around 4 p.m. — right when he usually stops by after work.
The other day, I went with him to the bar, and sure enough, there she was — waiting. I was upset because I don’t get to spend much time with Josh as it is, given his demanding schedule. It feels like she’s going out of her way to be around him.
When the three of us are together, Kylene barely acknowledges me. She directs nearly all of her attention to Josh. I’ve always believed that it’s best not to mix business with personal relationships, and this situation is making me very uncomfortable.
Kylene doesn’t seem to have any close friends, and I can’t help but feel that she might be jealous — or even crossing boundaries. Do you think she’s stalking my fiancé, or am I reading too much into it?
