September 12, 2025 — Beauty mogul and internet personality Jeffree Star delivered a controversial outburst on TikTok Live this week, denouncing aspects of the transgender movement and expressing support for conservative figure Charlie Kirk, who was reportedly killed during a debate event at Utah Valley University.

Star, who has over 37 million followers across social media platforms and is known for his gender-fluid presentation and influence in the LGBTQ+ community, appeared visibly shaken during the livestream as news broke of Kirk’s death.

“Charlie Kirk was just shot and has now passed away while he was debating at Utah Valley College,” Star said. “I’m literally stunned. Like, what is going on, dude?”

Throughout the live broadcast, Star condemned what he described as the “delusional trans agenda” and voiced support for what he called “biological facts.” He also criticized those in the chat who accused him of turning conservative or being a Republican.

“If you believe in they/thems, you’re part of the problem,” he said. “You can be whoever you want to be, but there’s science and there’s facts.”

Star clarified that he does not identify with any political party, stating, “I’m not a Republican. I’m not a Democrat. I’m Jeffree Star.” He further emphasized his identity as a gay man and male makeup artist who built his brand on self-expression, yet took issue with what he views as growing intolerance in online spaces toward people who question progressive gender ideology.

The livestream sparked immediate backlash across platforms, with many viewers criticizing Star’s remarks as transphobic, while others praised him for “speaking out” and defending free speech.

Star also reflected on his past praise for former President Donald Trump, clarifying that it was related to TikTok remaining available in the U.S., a platform central to his business. “All I said was, ‘Thank God Trump fixed it,’ or I wouldn’t be able to sell my cosmetics on this platform,” he explained.

As emotions ran high, Star mourned the loss of Kirk, calling him a person who “fought for the truth” through public debate and engagement. “He debated people of all religions, walks of life, and sexualities. And now he’s gone. I can’t stay here and play with makeup right now. I want to throw up.”

At the time of writing, no further official details have been released regarding the circumstances of Kirk’s death. Authorities are investigating the incident.
