Ham and Cheese Crescent Rolls are the culinary equivalent of a soulful hug – unpretentious yet undeniably delightful.

the best ham and cheese crescent rolls

These ham and cheese crescent rolls are super easy to make. They’re buttery, salty, cheesy, meaty and slightly tangy from the honey mustard. They make a perfect snack or lunch for my toddlers while also being great brunch appetizer.

ingredients and substitutions

  • Pillsbury Crescent Rolls – These are my go-to but I’m sure other brands make them. Just be sure to bake them for the temp and time that’s written on the tube.
  • Honey Mustard – I’m obsessed with this famous kream honey mustard (seriously the best i’ve ever had) but any delicious honey mustard of your choosing will do!
  • Honey Ham – I use honey ham but any variety of ham you love will work! You could also try mortadella, prosciutto or even turkey.
  • Cheese – A nice melting cheese is ideal so I used my current favorite which is Comte. I recommend an Alpine style cheese like grand cru, gruyere, or even swiss.
  • Garlic Salt – I know this is kind of an old school ingredient but it’s both garlic powder, parsley and salt which makes seasoning them so easy. You coould use each spice individually or use another blend of your choosing.

how to make it

Making these Ham and Cheese Crescent Rolls are so easy – my toddler even helps me!

First, you’ll want to preheat your oven to 375F degrees while you prep the rolls.

Now pop open your Pillsbury crescent rolls and carefully pull them apart into individual triangles. They rip easily so be gentle!

Smear each one with a little bit of the honey mustard. You could also leave them off or replace with raspberry jam if you don’t like mustard.

Now take a slice of ham and put a slice of cheese in the middle.

Tuck the shorter edges in and roll the ham around the cheese so it looks like it’s wrapped up.

Place one of the ham and cheese roll-ups on the larger end of a crescent roll.

Roll it up as pictured and place on a baking sheet. Repeat for the remaining rolls.

Once they’re all rolled up and on the baking tray, sprinkle the top of them with a little bit of garlic salt.

.

Place the baking sheet in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until crescent rolls are puffy and golden.

Remove from the oven and enjoy hot or at room temp.
