Cruise Passengers Discover ‘Complimentary Massage’ Came With Several Unadvertised Features
One cruise ship hairstylist apparently decided the salon menu needed a few… unauthorized additions.
Federal prosecutors say Pranit Narayan Pawar, 26, of India, was hired to cut and style hair aboard the Brilliant Lady cruise ship.
Instead, investigators allege he began handing out free massages to female passengers who booked salon appointments.
Which, in hindsight, may have been the first clue that something wasn’t quite right.

According to the Justice Department, Pawar allegedly escorted women into a smaller room next to the salon under the pretense of providing complimentary massages.
Prosecutors say the “massage” then wandered well beyond the territory generally covered in anatomy textbooks under the chapter titled “Things Hair Stylists Should Be Touching.”
In one alleged incident, investigators say Pawar even locked the treatment room door before the assault.
Authorities say multiple women reported nearly identical experiences after what they believed would be a relaxing visit to the ship’s salon.
The FBI arrested Pawar after the ship returned to Seattle from an Alaska cruise, where he now faces two federal counts of abusive sexual contact.
The Justice Department reminded passengers that if anyone experiences or witnesses a crime aboard a cruise ship, they should report it immediately to ship security or federal authorities.

Meanwhile, industry experts are reminding travelers of an important vacation tip:
If your hairstylist suddenly offers a free massage…
…you might want to ask why the barber has suddenly expanded into physical therapy.
