Metallica’s Kirk Hammett Falls Off Stage Days After Enraging the Mighty Swiftie Kingdom
Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett took an unexpected tumble during the band’s concert in Dublin on June 19, just days after drawing attention online for a shirt he wore at a previous show.
At Metallica’s June 13 performance in Budapest, Hammett appeared onstage wearing a shirt that read, “Taylor Swift Is a CIA Psyop.” Photos of the shirt quickly circulated online, prompting criticism from some Taylor Swift fans across social media and Reddit.
Less than a week later, Hammett slipped while performing “Seek & Destroy” during Metallica’s Dublin concert. The guitarist fell off the stage and into the crowd but was quickly helped back up by fans, allowing the performance to continue with minimal interruption.

Hammett later poked fun at the incident on Instagram, sharing footage of the fall alongside the caption, “Slip and Destroy!!!”
While some online commenters jokingly linked the mishap to the backlash over the shirt, Hammett has not publicly addressed the controversy or suggested any connection between the two events.
