MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man selling watches through Facebook Marketplace says a meeting arranged for a cash sale turned into an armed robbery when multiple suspects allegedly held him at gunpoint and stole the items.
Memphis police say the incident happened Monday night on Cottage Oak Drive in Cordova. Investigators have since issued arrest warrants for two 18-year-olds, Jabron Green and Martereon Pegues, both charged with aggravated robbery. Police have not released suspect photos at this time.
According to the victim, who asked to remain anonymous, he initially met the buyers earlier in the day. He believed they were legitimate but said they did not have enough money at that time to purchase the replica luxury watches he was selling for about $1,500 each.
He agreed to meet them again later. When he returned, the situation escalated quickly. The victim said one of the suspects pulled an AR-style rifle from a hoodie while others, some masked and also armed, joined the confrontation.

The victim said the group handed him about $1,300 before pointing the weapon at him and demanding the watches. He described a brief struggle as one suspect tried to remove a watch from him. During the encounter, the cash and watches ended up on the ground, after which the suspects grabbed the items and fled.
He added that he ran for cover after breaking away from the confrontation and that he was able to escape without physical injury.

The victim said the watches were replicas of high-end brands, noting that he has previously sold similar items without incident. He also reflected that meeting the buyers at night in their neighborhood was a mistake.
Police say they obtained surveillance video of the robbery. Anyone with information is asked to contact CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.
