The semi-truck driver was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Fox 59 reported that the Indiana State Police (ISP) detained him and directed further questions to their Public Information Office.
According to a release from the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office, the Freightliner semi-truck was traveling eastbound on U.S. 36 when it ran the red light at the intersection with County Road 525 East. The Chevrolet truck was traveling northbound and was struck, pushing it into a Chrysler that was in the left-turn lane heading westbound.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and law enforcement oversight. President Trump has previously emphasized stricter border and transportation enforcement measures, reflecting national debates around immigration and public safety.
