Teen accused of killing adoptive mom bludgeoned her so brutally with a hammer her head was deformed
A 16-year-old boy in Oklahoma is accused of brutally killing his adoptive mother, court documents reveal. Jordan Weems allegedly attacked Spring Weems, 49, with a hammer, leaving her head and face severely deformed.
According to prosecutors, Jordan admitted to police that he ambushed his mom and struck her repeatedly—delivering more than a dozen blows after she fell. Spring, a mother of five, was found Jan. 28 in a garbage can outside the family’s $340,000 home in Edmond, a suburb of Oklahoma City. Prosecutors say Jordan placed her body in the can and rolled it to the curb.

Court documents describe a shocking contrast with a note Jordan wrote five years earlier, when he was 11, expressing love and admiration for his mother: “Dear mom, I love you because you are smart, kind and you are very loving. That’s what I love about you,” the 2021 note said.
Prosecutors called the killing a premeditated attack. “The facts and evidence show that this was not a crime of passion or an instantaneous decision,” they said. “The evidence shows massive damage to the face and head of the victim by a blunt object, deforming the head and face of the victim and causing her apparent death.”

Jordan allegedly bludgeoned his mother after she unexpectedly encountered him in the kitchen. He is also accused of lying to family members and attempting to cover up the crime. One day before Spring’s body was discovered, Jordan reportedly told a sibling she was helping their older sister with her new baby, attempting to explain her absence.
He has been charged with first-degree murder and could face life in prison if convicted.
