A mother in Washington State has gone viral after sharing a video of herself pulling her middle school-aged daughter from her school during an anti-ICE walkout.
In the video, students can be seen streaming out of the building and gathering on the front lawn as the mother enters the school.
“This is my daughter’s middle school being allowed to protest ICE agents, disrupting traffic, having everyone honk,” she says. “I’m pulling my daughter from school today.”
Once inside, the mother spoke with school administrators, requesting to immediately withdraw her child. “I am here to pull my child from the school right now,” she told staff.
When a staff member asked for confirmation, she responded firmly, “Yes.”
The school attempted to explain the walkout, but the mother pressed on, expressing concern that the protest was disrupting her daughter’s education. “This is unbelievable. I can’t believe my kid is in this environment right now. I’m blown away,” she said.
She requested that her daughter be brought to the office immediately, and staff responded that they would retrieve her once the students returned. As the school tried to justify the protest, the mother reiterated her concerns, stating, “This is disrupting traffic and my child’s education. What about my family?”
She also expressed frustration over students who reportedly booed her as she entered the building.
Due to concerns about safety, given recent incidents involving anti-ICE protests nationally, the mother requested an escort for herself and her daughter. “I cannot believe my child is in this environment right now. I am ashamed and embarrassed as a parent and as an adult. I thought my kid was safe here,” she said.
