A cardiologist who once treated former Vice President Dick Cheney is now publicly raising concerns about President Trump’s fitness for office. According to The Hill, Dr. Jonathan Reiner—a CNN medical analyst and Cheney’s former heart doctor—is calling on Congress to launch a bipartisan review following a recent letter Trump sent to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

The letter, which was reportedly shared with several European ambassadors, links Trump’s interest in asserting U.S. control over Greenland to his frustration over not having received a Nobel Peace Prize. It also questions Denmark’s claim of sovereignty over the Arctic territory. Reiner said the situation is serious enough to justify a formal congressional inquiry.

Reiner has previously expressed concerns about Trump’s health, including earlier comments after video footage circulated that appeared to show the president briefly nodding off during a public event, according to The Daily Beast. Separately, Arizona Rep. Yassamin Ansari wrote on X on Monday that she believes Trump is “extremely mentally ill” and called for consideration of the 25th Amendment.

President Trump has rejected those claims, stating earlier this month on Truth Social that he is in “perfect health” and has “aced” a cognitive test three times in a row.
