An “unlucky” Honduran illegal immigrant allegedly crashed into an ICE vehicle after running a red light.

An undocumented immigrant was taken into custody after allegedly crashing her vehicle into an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) car in Louisiana, authorities said.

According to U.S. Border Patrol official Gregory K. Bovino, the incident occurred in Slidell when a Honduran woman allegedly ran a red light and struck an ICE vehicle that was operating in the area as part of Operation Catahoula Crunch. The operation involved deploying ICE agents to the New Orleans region to arrest what the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) described as “criminal illegal aliens.”

Bovino commented on the incident in a Facebook post, calling it an unusual turn of events. He said no injuries were reported as a result of the crash, and the woman was taken into federal custody at the scene.

DHS officials say Operation Catahoula Crunch has resulted in approximately 370 arrests so far, according to local outlet WVUE. ICE has not released the woman’s identity or details about where she is being held.

The enforcement operation is part of a broader immigration crackdown under President Trump’s administration. ICE has been deployed to cities nationwide as the administration prioritizes border security and interior enforcement.

Federal data released in October indicates that more than 2 million undocumented immigrants have left the United States since President Trump took office in January. The administration expects at least 600,000 deportations by the end of 2025. DHS also reports that border encounters have dropped 37% compared to levels during the previous administration.
