BILOXI, Miss. — A Texas woman was arrested for allegedly placing razor blades inside loaves of bread at two Walmart stores in Biloxi, authorities said.

Camille Benson, 33, was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with attempted mayhem after customers reported discovering razor blades in bread purchased at a Walmart Supercenter and a Walmart Neighborhood Market, according to the Biloxi Police Department.

Employees at the Walmart Supercenter said the first report came on December 5, when a customer found a blade in a loaf of bread. A second incident was reported on December 8 at the Walmart Neighborhood Market, when another customer discovered a blade in a purchased loaf.

After a third complaint at the Supercenter on Sunday, Walmart employees inspected the stores and found multiple loaves that had been tampered with. The police department was notified on Monday. Surveillance images released Tuesday identified Benson as a person of interest, WTVA reported. Authorities are now urging anyone who bought bread from the affected stores to carefully inspect their loaves and report any suspicious findings.

Walmart said in a statement, “The health and safety of our customers is always a top priority. We have removed and thoroughly inspected all potentially affected products at impacted stores in Biloxi. We appreciate law enforcement for their swift action and will continue cooperating with them as they investigate.”

The company also advised that customers who purchase tampered products should dispose of them immediately and visit their local Walmart for a full refund.

The Biloxi Police Department stated it does not believe other stores have been targeted. Benson’s bond has been set at $100,000.
