Boyfriend Demands $300 to Babysit Our Children
DEAR ABBY:
My boyfriend and I have two children and work opposite evening shifts, so one of us is always home with the kids. Recently, my best friend from high school surprised me with concert tickets to our favorite band, but the concert falls on a night I’m scheduled to be with the children.
I don’t have any friends or family nearby who could babysit, so I asked my boyfriend if he could take the night off so I could attend. He said he would only do it if I reimbursed him for his lost wages, which would be about $300.
Is it reasonable for him to charge me to watch his own children?
