Ellen DeGeneres Planning to Crawl Back to the United States After Fleeing to the UK Following Trump’s 2024 Win

Comedian Ellen DeGeneres, who moved to England following President Donald Trump’s 2024 election win, is reportedly planning to return to the United States.
When she first relocated, DeGeneres praised the UK, calling it “absolutely beautiful” and admiring its villages, architecture, and simpler way of life. “It’s clean. Everything here is just better — the way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here,” she said at the time.
Now, however, DeGeneres is apparently reconsidering her move. According to the Daily Mail, she and her wife, actress Portia de Rossi, are planning to spend more time in California, citing the sunny weather and a desire to be closer to friends. A source told the publication:

“Ellen was adamant that she and Portia were going to stay in the UK while Trump was in the White House, but evidently she’s changed her mind somewhat. They miss their friends, can’t take the winters there, and Portia wants to act again. They will be here for the holidays and longer by the sound of it.”
De Rossi is known for her roles in Ally McBeal and Arrested Development.
Despite their high-profile return, it remains uncertain whether DeGeneres will be warmly welcomed in Hollywood. Her reputation has taken hits in recent years, with reports questioning her behavior behind the scenes on her former talk show.
