‘Belligerent’ man who tried to order Rally’s food at KFC leads chase on scooter: South Euclid police

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio (WOIO) — A man is facing multiple charges after threatening a Kentucky Fried Chicken employee over a food order and leading police on a scooter chase, the South Euclid Police Department reported.
The incident began on November 14, when 34-year-old Lysander Mosely went to the KFC at 4001 Mayfield Road. Employees said Mosely attempted to order food from Rally’s, which is located across the street. When staff told him KFC didn’t serve those items, Mosely became belligerent and threatened to “smack” an employee, according to SEPD.
Police were called, and when officers arrived, Mosely got on a blue moped parked outside and took off. SEPD said he rode on the sidewalk, disregarding pedestrian safety, and ignored officers’ commands to stop.
During the chase, an officer reported that Mosely turned toward them and raised his middle finger. He then lost control of the moped, which slid into a curb and a nearby tree, ejecting him onto the pavement. Medics arrived shortly after and transported him to a hospital.
SEPD identified the suspect as Lysander Mosely, who now faces charges including:
-
Disorderly conduct
-
OVI (DUI)
-
No motorcycle license
-
Reckless operation
-
Operating a motorcycle without a helmet
Additional charges, including failure to comply with police commands (a third-degree felony) and an OVI evidence charge pending blood test results, may also be filed, according to SEPD.
