Candace Owens Alleges There is an Active Assassination Plot Against Her Led by French President Emmanuel Macron
Conservative commentator Candace Owens made a dramatic allegation on social media Friday, claiming that French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, are involved in a plot to assassinate her.
Owens, whose podcast currently ranks number one globally, said on X that she had been contacted by what she described as a “high-ranking” French government employee. According to her post, the individual provided information she considers credible enough to release publicly “in the event that something happens.”
Her post quickly gained traction, gathering more than 66,000 likes and millions of views within hours, while calling for U.S. authorities to investigate.
Owens wrote that the alleged informant told her the Macrons had “executed upon and paid for” an assassination plan targeting her, claiming the operation was approved for a small unit within France’s elite National Gendarmerie Intervention Group (GIGN). She also said she was told an Israeli national was part of the team. Owens asserted that the source presented proof of their position within the French government.
Owens tied the claim to the September 10 killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, suggesting—without providing evidence—that the suspect trained with the French Foreign Legion’s 13th Demi-Brigade and that multiple governments were involved. Tyler Robinson, 22, has been charged with capital murder in Kirk’s killing and is awaiting trial. Owens has publicly questioned his guilt.
🚨 URGENT
Two days ago I was contacted by a high-ranking employee of the French Government. After determining this person’s position and proximity to the French couple, I have deemed the information they gave me to be credible enough to share publicly in the event that something…— Candace Owens (@RealCandaceO) November 22, 2025
She further claimed her source warned that some U.S. officials are aware of the alleged plot, though she did not identify who those officials might be.
Owens also stated that French journalist Xavier Poussard may be in danger as well, calling the situation “deadly serious” and urging her followers to spread her message widely.
The GIGN, created in 1973 after the Munich Olympics hostage crisis, is an elite tactical unit of the French National Gendarmerie specializing in counterterrorism, hostage rescue, and high-risk operations.
Owens’ accusation follows an intensifying conflict with the Macrons, who are suing her in Delaware over her repeated claims that Brigitte Macron is transgender and was born male under the name Jean-Michel Trogneux. Owens resides in Tennessee.
As of Saturday morning, neither the French government, the Macrons, nor U.S. authorities have issued any public response to Owens’ allegations.
