Biden’s Legacy: Illegal Driving 18-Wheeler Allegedly Killed National Guardsman, 23, in Another Needless Wreck
An Indiana National Guard member was killed last Friday in a multi-vehicle crash involving a commercial truck driven by a non-U.S. citizen, authorities reported.
According to WTHR, 56-year-old Goderdzi Gujabidze, driving a truck with a trailer carrying multiple vehicles, allegedly swerved, causing a military Humvee to leave the road. Indiana National Guardsman Terry Frye was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people were also injured.
Frye and his fellow guardsmen were reportedly on their way to Camp Atterbury for a weekend drill. During the crash, the Humvee flipped, ejecting all four passengers.
Maj. Gen. Larry Muennich, adjutant general of the Indiana National Guard, expressed condolences to Frye’s family and fellow soldiers. “As an organization, we become a family to each other, and the death of a service member resonates throughout the force,” he said. “We will continue to provide support to his family.”
A spokesperson for the National Guard echoed the sentiment, calling the loss “tragic” and extending condolences to the soldier’s family, loved ones, and friends.
Gujabidze reportedly held a non-domiciled commercial driver’s license issued by New York. Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin described the crash as “another senseless and avoidable tragedy on America’s roads” and raised concerns about commercial licensing for non-citizens.
Authorities noted that incidents involving non-U.S. citizens driving commercial vehicles have occurred elsewhere. Last month, a 21-year-old individual allegedly caused a fatal crash in San Bernardino County, California, after entering the country illegally in 2022.
Investigations into Friday’s crash remain ongoing.
