According to The Telegraph, the incident occurred when the pig wandered along a path ahead of Russian soldiers. Startled by their presence, it ran, inadvertently triggering an anti-personnel mine left behind by retreating Ukrainian forces. The explosion sent up a cloud of smoke, but remarkably, the pig survived, though it appeared to be injured, and the Russian soldiers were unharmed.
