Actor Jon Voight has released a strongly worded video warning that New York City is headed in a dangerous direction under Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani. In the message, posted on X, the Oscar winner said Mamdani poses a severe threat to the nation’s largest city and argued that only President Donald Trump can “stop this horror.”

Voight claimed Mamdani will “take down the city that never sleeps,” adding that New York could become “a forbidden place of darkness.” He called on residents to stand up for their rights and accused the incoming mayor of attempting to impose socialism on a city built by “hard-working Americans.”

“This mayor will destroy this city,” Voight said, urging New Yorkers to oppose Mamdani’s agenda. He described the mayor-elect as a danger to the city’s core values and warned that people risk “losing your city to this communist fool.” Voight framed his call to action around patriotism, saying Americans must stand for the nation’s principles and ideals.

Voight also asserted that Americans have placed their trust in President Donald J. Trump, saying Trump is the only leader capable of preventing what he called a looming disaster: “He, and only he, can stop this horror as this mayor, Mamdani, will try to destroy New York’s wealth and turn it into a socialist crap city.”

Fox News Digital reported that it reached out to both Voight and Mamdani for comment.

Mamdani won the Nov. 4 New York City mayoral election, defeating independent candidate Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa. His victory has drawn mixed reactions from public figures.

Actress Cynthia Nixon, who ran for governor in 2018, praised Mamdani on social media, posting photos and calling him “a miracle of nature.” Meanwhile, actor and comedian Michael Rapaport has criticized Mamdani online, accusing him of dining at one of the city’s priciest restaurants while living in a rent-stabilized apartment.
