Aggressive’ day care worker sinks teeth into 3-year-old’s arm after he bit another child

A Texas day care worker faces felony charges after allegedly biting a 3-year-old boy at a local youth center.
Elisha Daniel, 54, was arrested last week and charged with injury to a child after surveillance footage at Little Angels of Maypearl in Ellis County reportedly showed her sinking her teeth into the child’s arm. Authorities say the incident occurred after the boy allegedly bit another child.
“She was very aggressive. Very angry,” Maypearl Police Captain David Smith told KDFW. “She grabs the student by the arm, pulls him toward her, and places his arm in her mouth. You can see a look of anguish on the child’s face—something is clearly wrong.”
Child Protective Services received a report about the incident in October and investigated before involving law enforcement. Police Chief John Shelton said the surveillance footage was key in leading to Daniel’s arrest and encouraged any parents with additional concerns to come forward.
A Little Angels staff member confirmed to Law&Crime that Daniel is no longer employed at the day care.
The family of the boy told KDFW that their son has been emotionally affected by the incident and expressed hope that justice will be served.
Daniel was released on a $10,000 bond and is awaiting her next court appearance.
