Two illegal immigrants who appeared on personal-finance YouTuber Caleb Hammer’s popular show Financial Audit admitted they’re buried in debt, with the man acknowledging he pays little to no taxes — prompting Hammer to abruptly end the interview on Wednesday.
The episode, titled “These Illegal Immigrants Are Fcked,”* features a Phoenix couple discussing their finances while insisting they “deserve” a new Toyota Tacoma, despite owing hundreds of thousands of dollars. A clip of the exchange quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter).
“You guys are f*cked! … I’m done!” Hammer said before cutting the interview short.
During the segment, the man — who said he works in construction — claimed to earn about $6,000 a month and admitted to paying “little to no taxes.” The pair also revealed they’re roughly $420,000 in debt but still considering financing a new truck.
Commentators online summarized their situation as a case of poor financial priorities and applauded Hammer’s decision to stop the taping after the couple refused to make meaningful changes to their spending habits.
Hammer’s Financial Audit series has built a large following for its candid breakdowns of real people’s budgets, debts, and money mistakes. The Phoenix couple’s episode drew particular attention for combining massive debt, admitted tax evasion, and a sense of entitlement — a mix that viewers called one of the show’s most jaw-dropping moments yet.
