STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — It might sound like the start of a joke, but for patrons at a Stuart tiki bar, happy hour came with a surprise guest—complete with teeth and a tail.
The Stuart Police Department (SPD) shared on Monday that officers responded to an unusual call at Harlow’s Hideout: an alligator had wandered inside. Unlike the usual rowdy customer trying to skip a tab, this visitor had scales, a tail, and a flair for dramatic entrances.
Officers were able to safely take the gator into custody, and thankfully, no injuries were reported—just one wild story for the bar’s regulars and a few shaken cocktails.
Police confirmed that the alligator was relocated to a more “suitable venue, where the only cocktails are in the swamp and the sun never sets on happy hour.”
