Trump gives Hamas 6 p.m. Sunday deadline to accept peace proposal before ‘all hell’ breaks loose
President Trump set a public ultimatum on Friday, giving Hamas until Sunday at 6 p.m. Washington, D.C. time to accept a U.S.-led peace proposal for Gaza — warning that “all HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out” if they refuse
The plan, unveiled earlier this week alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, lays out a 20-point framework that calls for an immediate ceasefire, the release of remaining hostages, the disarmament of Hamas and a transitional governing arrangement for Gaza.

Under the proposal, Gaza would be temporarily overseen by a so-called “Board of Peace” to manage governance and reconstruction. President Trump and former U.K. prime minister Tony Blair are named as leaders of that board; the plan says Hamas members would be excluded while experts and some Palestinian representatives would participate.
The proposal also promises large-scale humanitarian aid and redevelopment projects in Gaza — projects Trump says he would supervise with outside experts — but conditions the flow of assistance on Hamas’s acceptance of the deal.
Trump framed the deadline as a last opportunity for Hamas fighters to avoid further military action, writing that many Hamas combatants are “surrounded and MILITARILY TRAPPED” and that harsher measures could follow if the group refuses the offer. He also urged civilians to move to safer parts of Gaza.
Several regional and Muslim-majority countries have been reported as engaging with or reviewing elements of the proposal, and U.S. officials say they have been pressing intermediaries — including Qatar and other Arab states — to encourage a Hamas response.
Critics — including international officials and rights groups — have warned that any plan that sidelines Palestinians from decision-making or contemplates large-scale population movement risks further destabilising the region. The administration has not provided full operational details about how Israel would “finish the job” in Gaza should Hamas reject the deal.
The ultimatum arrives just days before the second anniversary of the Oct. 7, 2023, attack by Hamas on southern Israel, an event that helped precipitate the current conflict and remains a central reference point for Israeli and U.S. officials.
