Super Speeder explains he had “appointment with his barber” for running 107 mph on highway

Florida superspeeder driving 107 mph tells police he had ‘an appointment with his barber’

PALM COAST, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida man who was pulled over for driving 107 mph told police he was hurrying to make an appointment with his barber.

Dashcam and body camera footage from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office shows 57-year-old Michael Stanek speeding down the highway before a deputy signaled him to pull over.

After stepping out of his vehicle, Stanek told the deputy he was driving so fast because he had “an appointment with my barber in New Smyrna.”

In Florida, drivers caught exceeding the speed limit by 50 mph or reaching speeds of 100 mph or more are classified as “super speeders” and may face jail time.

Stanek was taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and later released on a $150 bond
