A 21-year-old woman in Ohio has been arrested after allegedly assaulting an Arby’s employee with a rock, leaving the victim bloodied and screaming.

Stevi J. Creech was taken into custody last week and charged with one count of felonious assault causing serious harm. A second individual, 26-year-old Gerrin Rankin, was also arrested and charged with misdemeanor criminal menacing for allegedly assisting in the attack.

According to the Kettering Police Department, officers were patrolling near Forrer Boulevard and Smithville Road on Sept. 11 when they were flagged down by an Arby’s employee outside the restaurant. The employee was reportedly “screaming and bleeding from the face.”

Witnesses told police that Creech and Rankin entered the restaurant through the drive-thru area, attacked the employee, and fled on foot. One witness said Creech appeared to be holding something in her hand when she entered.

Surveillance footage reviewed by police reportedly showed Creech entering the restaurant holding an object—later identified as a large rock—before heading to the drive-thru area. Rankin entered the building shortly afterward. Though the actual assault was not caught on camera, footage shows the pair fleeing the scene less than two minutes later. Moments after, the injured employee is seen holding her face.

One witness told investigators he considered stepping in but was stopped by Rankin, who allegedly reached for his waistband and told him to “back off.” The witness said he believed Rankin may have had a gun and chose not to intervene.

The victim later told police that she and Creech had spent time together the previous night, during which Creech accused her of stealing a “roach,” slang for the end of a marijuana joint.

Police located and arrested Creech and Rankin a short distance from the restaurant shortly after the incident.

AES Restaurant Group, which operates the Arby’s location, issued a statement saying the employee received medical care and has since returned to work. “AES Restaurant Group prioritizes team member safety and is fully cooperating with authorities,” the statement said.

Creech is being held at the Montgomery County Jail on a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 22. Rankin has since been released from custody.
