Active duty Navy chief who witnessed UFO convinced doubtful colleagues with radar expertise: ‘It was like checkmate’

A U.S. Navy Senior Chief has come forward with a dramatic account of encountering four unidentified flying objects — shaped like Tic Tacs — while on duty aboard the USS Jackson off the coast of California.

Senior Chief Petty Officer Alexandro Wiggins says he observed the strange objects on the evening of February 15, 2023. According to Wiggins, the first craft appeared to emerge directly from the ocean.

“What am I seeing?” Wiggins recalled in an interview with The Post. Speaking as a private individual, not in any official Navy capacity, he stated, “From my observations, it did in fact come from the water.”

Initially picking up the object on radar, Wiggins moved to the port bridge wing to visually confirm what he was seeing. He considered various possibilities — atmospheric phenomena, cloud formations — but quickly ruled them out when the object performed an extraordinary maneuver.

“It rose into the air quickly — way too fast — and in a way I’ve never seen before,” said Wiggins, a 21-year Navy veteran. “It wasn’t anything that looked like conventional human technology.”

Moments later, three additional craft appeared, moving in coordination roughly 8 nautical miles from the Jackson. Wiggins alerted a tactical officer and then turned to the ship’s Sapphire radar system for further observation.

Radar footage of the incident was later published in April on the Weaponized Podcast, hosted by George Knapp and Jeremy Corbell. The video shows an oval-shaped object moving smoothly up and down before joining three similar shapes.

“The video shows the original Tic-Tac object I saw visually off the bridge wing,” Wiggins explained. “The Sapphire system can display silhouettes and heat signatures, and these didn’t match anything familiar.”

Skepticism among fellow crew members quickly faded after a commercial aircraft passed through the same radar field. Unlike the unknown objects, the plane appeared clearly with a distinct heat signature, wings, tail, and fuselage — highlighting the stark difference in radar profiles.

“About 30 to 45 seconds later, a commercial aircraft flew by,” said Wiggins. “I told the CSM to lock onto it. You could see everything — the tail wing, side wings, the shape of the nose. It was perfect.”

That, Wiggins said, was the moment of “checkmate.”

“The skeptic sat back down. Even if I had doubts before, they ended right there.”

Wiggins, a father of three, shared his experience publicly during the third UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) hearing hosted by the House Transparency Task Force — the same session where previously classified footage of a Hellfire missile striking a UFO was unveiled.
