Former President Donald Trump criticized Chinese President Xi Jinping on social media Wednesday as Xi hosted Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Beijing for China’s largest military parade in history.
The event marked the 80th anniversary of Japan’s surrender in World War II. As the parade took place near the historic Tiananmen Gate, Trump took to his platform, accusing Xi of “conspiring against the United States” alongside Putin and Kim.
“May President Xi and the wonderful people of China have a great and lasting day of celebration,” Trump wrote. “Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against The United States of America.”

Referencing World War II, Trump questioned whether Xi would acknowledge the U.S. military aid that helped China resist Japanese forces. “Many Americans died in China’s quest for Victory and Glory. I hope they are rightfully honored and remembered for their bravery and sacrifice,” Trump added.

At the parade, President Xi praised the People’s Liberation Army, calling it a “heroic force,” and emphasized equality among nations. “The Chinese nation is a great nation that does not fear violence, and that stands independent and strong,” Xi said.
Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov dismissed Trump’s accusation of conspiracy, telling Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin that “no one organized any conspiracies… no one even had that in their minds.”
The gathering of the three leaders has raised concern in Ukraine and the West over increasing cooperation between China, Russia, and North Korea amid Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine, which began in February 2022.
Putin and Kim met after the parade, according to a Kremlin statement. Putin thanked Kim for reportedly sending North Korean troops to fight in Russia’s western Kursk region last year. “Your soldiers fought valiantly and heroically,” Putin said. “We will never forget their sacrifices.”

Kim reaffirmed his support for Moscow. “If there is anything we can do to help Russia, we will certainly do that, and we will regard this as our fraternal duty,” he said. The two leaders hugged after their meeting, and Putin invited Kim to visit Russia again, saying, “Come back again.”
North Korea’s Foreign Ministry said Kim received a warm welcome in Beijing, describing the atmosphere as one of “the warmest friendship and enthusiastic welcome.”
Meanwhile, Ukrainian and NATO officials continue to accuse North Korea of supplying Russia with weapons and troops, and have pointed to China as a critical economic and material support base for Moscow’s war efforts.
