State Department Abruptly Halts Visa Releases for Gazans After Loomer Exposes Shocking Footage of Refugees Shipped Into America

The U.S. State Department has temporarily halted the issuance of all visitor visas for individuals from Gaza following the release of video footage by investigative journalist Laura Loomer that raised concerns about the entry of Palestinian nationals into the United States under humanitarian grounds.

Loomer posted a series of videos on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that she claims show Palestinian individuals arriving at various U.S. airports, including San Francisco, Houston, St. Louis, and cities in Ohio. According to Loomer, these individuals identified themselves as refugees from Gaza and were allegedly assisted in their travel by a nonprofit organization called Heal Palestine.

In a series of posts, Loomer questioned how the individuals obtained U.S. visas and called for accountability from the State Department and state-level officials in California and Texas. She claimed the arrivals represented a potential national security threat and demanded further investigation into the nonprofit’s role and federal oversight.

Heal Palestine, founded in 2024, is a U.S.-registered nonprofit that describes itself as nonpolitical and nonreligious. The organization says its mission is to provide urgent relief and long-term support to Palestinians. According to a separate investigation by the X user known as Data Republican, the group reported less than $50,000 in revenue for 2023 via a 990-N filing, which is typically reserved for small charities. However, records allegedly show the group received multiple grants exceeding that threshold.

Data Republican also highlighted that Heal Palestine’s board includes individuals with international ties, including Mohanned Awad, noted for bringing “UAE connections” to the organization. Heal Palestine’s founder, Steve Sosebee, previously led the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund and was involved in humanitarian work with Palestinian children.

Sosebee’s past associations have drawn additional scrutiny. According to Loomer and Data Republican, Sosebee once collaborated with the now-defunct Holy Land Foundation (HLF), a U.S.-based charity linked to the Muslim Brotherhood and convicted in 2008 of funding Hamas. While Sosebee was not charged, reports suggest he played a role in HLF’s operations, raising questions about current financial practices.

Florida State Representative Randy Fine responded to the footage and allegations, calling the reported entry of Gazans into the U.S. “absolutely unacceptable” and stating that his office is working with authorities to verify the claims and potentially pursue the expulsion of individuals who entered under questionable circumstances.

Loomer has stated she has spoken directly with Rep. Fine and is also in contact with Senator Tom Cotton’s office, which is reportedly looking into how the visas were issued.

In response to the growing controversy, the U.S. State Department issued a brief statement:

“All visitor visas for individuals from Gaza are being stopped while we conduct a full and thorough review of the process and procedures used to issue a small number of temporary medical-humanitarian visas in recent days.”

As of now, it remains unclear how many individuals from Gaza have entered the U.S. under the humanitarian program, and what level of vetting was conducted. Investigations are ongoing.
