Bumbling adult trapped inside Chuck E. Cheese arcade game — firefighters come to rescue
A California woman had to be rescued by firefighters after getting her arm stuck inside a children’s arcade game at a Chuck E. Cheese in Burbank—while a crowd of curious kids looked on.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday when the woman, attempting to retrieve or manipulate objects inside the “Snow Day!” game, wedged her arm into a narrow tunnel not meant for players’ limbs. The game, designed for young children, features soft, falling “snow” balls that players collect and drop into scoring holes for points.
What’s typically a short game turned into a nearly hour-long rescue effort after the woman—who had to kneel to fit into the small play area—became stuck. Firefighters from the Burbank Fire Department arrived and managed to free her without injury.
A video taken by onlookers shows a group of children watching the scene unfold in fascination from nearby booths.

A Chuck E. Cheese spokesperson confirmed the woman was playing a game “intended for children” and had inserted her arm into an area not designed for use. The company emphasized that the game itself is safe when used as intended.
According to Coastal Amusements, the manufacturer of the game, “Snow Day!” was specifically designed for young kids to fill a gap in entertainment options for that age group.
After being freed, the woman reportedly continued to enjoy her visit with her family.
The incident follows another unusual event at a Chuck E. Cheese location in Florida last month, where a performer dressed as the iconic mascot was arrested during a child’s birthday party on credit card theft charges. That arrest also drew wide-eyed attention from children at the scene.

In a bid to appeal to a broader audience, Chuck E. Cheese recently launched a new adult-focused arcade concept, replacing traditional kid-friendly games with more intense titles and offering an expanded food and drink menu—including alcohol—for its now-grown-up fans.
