My Teenage Son and His Best Friend Hang Out All Day in Their Underpants. Uh …
BY DAN KOIS
My son “Matt” (14) and his best friend “Kyle” are together all the time, play on the same sports teams, and often spend the night at each other’s houses before games so only one set of parents has to drive them. For the past few months, when they’re alone in my son’s bedroom, they seem to spend time together in just their underwear. First it was just while working out (Matt has a small weight set in his room) and when they went to bed. The other day, I walked by and they were both doing homework, shirtless, in just boxer briefs. That seemed strange to me. I asked my son about it, and he said that it’s just something guys do, that it’s hot (his room is on a third floor with a small window unit), and that it’s no big deal because they are in the locker room changing and showering six days a week. My husband agrees and says I’m making something out of nothing. I do not get the impression anything sexual is happening, and they always dress when in common areas of the house. It still seems unusual to me. Am I wrong?
