Trucker charged with OUI in NH, 170 beer bottles found in cab
Bow police said they received a report of a commercial vehicle blocking school buses at the bus parking lot on Robinson Road on Friday, and determined that the tractor-trailer driver was operating while intoxicated.
A Texas trucker is facing drunken driving and other charges after police responded to a report of a tractor-trailer blocking school buses in Bow, New Hampshire, on Friday.
Bow police said they received a report of a commercial vehicle blocking school buses at the bus parking lot on Robinson Road. Responding officers located the tractor-trailer driver, and determined that he was driving while intoxicated. He refused to exit the truck despite the officers’ commands and was removed physically by police and taken into custody after a brief struggle.
The driver, identified as 33-year-old Edgar Ramirez, of Odessa, Texas, was charged with driving while intoxicated, subsequent offense; open container of alcohol; and resisting arrest, police said.
During their investigation, officers found about 170 beer bottles inside the cab of the tractor-trailer.
Police said they had been searching for the same tractor-trailer several hours earlier after it was reported leaving a truck stop with an intoxicated driver. But they were unable to locate the truck at that time.
Ramirez is being held pending arraignment on Monday in Concord District Court.
