You’ll never guess who wants the White House press secretary job now — and she’s not even a blonde
Laura Loomer is pitching herself to succeed embattled outgoing White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia — who was abruptly fired Friday after a measly four days on the job.
“Hear me out: Press Secretary Laura Loomer,” she wrote on X just hours after news broke that Zacharia, 41, was already out after her decidedly shaky start.
Loomer also gave a nod to the latest trend in President Donald Trump’s last three press secretaries — including Zacharia, Karoline Leavitt and Kayleigh McEnany — all of whom have been blonde and white.
“So you’re saying if I dye my hair blonde and I change my name to Kora I have a chance?” she also quipped on X.
The controversial Trump acolyte — who is not known for her measured approach or for reliable information but who does often have Trump’s ear — then got serious.
“Personally, I think people are being unnecessarily cruel to @KatieZacharia. She seems like a nice lady who just wanted to serve the President. Some people work inside the WH who leak to CNN and MSDNC every day,” she wrote in another post.
“She was nervous. It’s not a crime. There are people who work for President Trump who are doing much worse things on a daily basis to undermine the President when we look at the 44,000 federal employees who work under this administration. I wish Katie the best. I think it’s great that President Trump has people who are so devoted to his cause they are willing to subject themselves to public nitpicking on a daily basis. I’m sure he appreciates it, and I think Katie had good intentions.
“Just leave her alone now. The continued dogpiling is just malicious. Let her be,” Loomer wrote. “It’s not nice. And if I’m saying it’s not nice, then you really know it’s not nice.”
Zacharia made her debut Tuesday in a rocky performance that had her mostly reading from a script and taking just three questions from friendly outlets before she exited after only 14 minutes.
A stream of bad headlines then erupted after it emerged that the California mom of four, who had described the president as an attorney, never passed the bar exam.
Her fate appeared sealed Thursday night after she was grilled by Fox News’ Sean Hannity on air.
