This Oklahoma man bought a stolen 2015 Dodge Charger R/T at an auction and later made some surprising discoveries inside.

YouTuber Auto Auction Rebuilds spent $7,500 to purchase the car from an insurance auction.

This car had been stolen, recovered, written off as a total loss, and now it was in his possession.

In a video shared to his YouTube channel, this man went through the car and made some surprising discoveries along the way.

Cars bought at auction can often be full of surprises

When you buy a car at auction, you’d ideally like to be fully informed of what you’re getting yourself into.

After all, these cars are mostly second-hand, so they’ll have had a life before you made the purchase.

But as we’ve seen before, cars sold at auction can surprise their new owners in a multitude of ways.

One man was left stunned by what he found when he took a chance on a stolen Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, while this new Jaguar XJ8 owner had a mystery on his hands.

You can never be 100 percent certain of what you’re picking up.

That’s very much the case for Auto Auction Rebuilds, which purchased a stolen 2015 Dodge Charger R/T for $7,500 at an insurance auction.

What was left behind in this Dodge Charger R/T

There was a lot to admire about this car – its factory ice blue exterior, its Brembo brakes, and a Demon-style hood bulge being just some of the highlights.

But there was more to this car that meets the eye.

Given that it was stolen, it should come as no surprise that some personal items were left inside.

We’re talking about the things you might expect, like vapes or sunglasses.

But there were also the original contract for the car and a CarPlay device.

“I’m betting all the stuff in here, it belongs to him. All of this stuff belongs to the guy that got his freaking car stolen,” Auto Auction Rebuilds said.

“I hope he had the opportunity to come back and kind of go through his stuff and make sure there was nothing in here that he wanted. Because that sucks, man.”

He even found some physical cash.

“Oh, are you kidding? There’s money in here. We got some stolen money,” the YouTuber noted.

In fairness, it appeared to be just one dollar and a bit of change.

What is going to happen with this Dodge Charger R/T?

The car arrived without a working battery, so that needed seeing to obviously.

An attempt to charge the original left the shop smelling of sulfur.

Not ideal.

Fortunately, a sponsor supplied him with a replacement.

The interior was in pretty shabby shape thanks to the thieves who took the car, with the sunroof glass smashed and signs of water damage in the cabin.

By the video’s end, the YouTuber was leaning towards to keeping it, even though it’d need some cleaning up.

“I’m thankful that I got the car. I’m absolutely in love with it, thrilled to death with it,” he said.

“I just wish it could have been under different circumstances. But at the same time, had it been under different circumstances, this car wouldn’t have been $7,500 at the auction.”
