You don’t have to listen to busybody race hustlers

Believe it or not, you do not need to listen to the demands of race-obsessed busybodies and demolish traditions to please them. You can simply ignore them and do whatever you want, because the only power they have comes from the fear you have of them.

The University of Florida was one of the most recent institutions to discover this truth. The Florida Gators kicked off their football season with a 66-21 win over Florida Atlantic, a game that was not particularly noteworthy if not for one chant. That would be the “Gator Bait” chant, where Florida fans chant that the opposing team is, you guessed it, “gator bait.”

Back in the 2020 Black Lives Matter summer purge of everything that people enjoyed, delusional left-wing race hustlers demanded that the university cease the chant. According to them, the chant originated from slave owners using black babies as alligator bait, an obviously delusional assertion that was not backed by any evidence whatsoever. The chant had actually originated from Lawrence Wright, a black player on the team in 1995, who said after a victory over rival Florida State that “If you ain’t a Gator, ya Gator bait, baby.” That 1995 season was the best in Florida history to that point, and the team then won a national championship the following year.

Then-University President Kent Fuchs even said at the time that there was no evidence that the chant was in any way associated with racism. Still, he threw the chant along with his spine into the trash, choosing to appease the know-nothing race hustlers who were roving the countryside looking for trends and traditions to eliminate in the name of their righteous cause.

New University President Stuart Bell has reversed Fuchs’s cowardly decision, and the “Gator Bait” chant has returned to the Swamp once again. There will be no consequences, because the race-obsessed social media mob that scared Fuchs in the first place was always social. The University of Florida doesn’t need to pander to those people, because they do not influence the real world. Their outrage is uninformed, performative, and limited to Reddit and X. Life goes on with or without it.

What the University of Florida has shown is that you can simply ignore the fabricated racial victimhood of left-wing activists who want to constantly make themselves the victims of society. You can enjoy football and historic football traditions without paying mind to their constant whining. If you’re not a race baiter, you’re baiter bait, and you can always choose, as Florida has now, to ignore the bait.
