HARRISBURG, Pa. (WKRC) — A woman who banned herself from Pennsylvania casinos for life was escorted out of one last week after she sneaked in and won a slot machine jackpot, reports WHTM.
Pennsylvania State Police said they were called to the Hollywood Casino in Grantville on May 31 after the casino identified the guest on the gaming floor as a 69-year-old New Jersey woman who had added herself to a self-exclusion list for a lifetime ban in 2019. Self-identified gamblers can add themselves to the list for one or five years or even for life, said the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).
It’s unclear if the woman will get to keep the jackpot. PGCB spokesperson Doug Harbach has said in the past that jackpots are forfeited by self-excluded gamblers and instead go to the PCGB to help fight gambling addiction.
A similar incident happened in 2025 when a lifetime self-excluded gambler won $57,000 in a Pennsylvania casino. He did not get to keep the jackpot.
